The FieldRoutes alternatives most worth a look for a small pest control shop are tools that publish their prices and let you try them first: GorillaDesk, Jobber, Housecall Pro, QuoteIQ, Fieldwork and PestShift. FieldRoutes does not publish prices (you request a quote) and says it does not offer a free trial. If you run one to ten trucks and want to see the price and test the software before talking to sales, one of these is usually the easier start.
I run PestShift, so I compete with everyone on this list. Every fact below about another product comes from that company's own website, checked on October 8, 2026. Where a site did not say something, I say so rather than guess.
What is FieldRoutes and who is it for?
FieldRoutes is field service software focused on pest control and lawn care. ServiceTitan's pricing page lists FieldRoutes as one of its products, and ServiceTitan's pest control menu sends visitors to fieldroutes.com.
The FieldRoutes pricing page shows two plans:
- Growth, described as "ideal for small businesses".
- Corporate, for companies that are scaling.
So FieldRoutes does market to small businesses. The question is whether its buying process and feature depth fit a shop your size.
How much does FieldRoutes cost?
FieldRoutes does not publish prices. Both plans have a "Request Pricing" button, and the page says the monthly subscription is "based on the number of active customers". That means your price grows as your customer list grows, which is worth modelling before you sign.
Contract terms were not stated on the pricing page when I checked. Ask for them in writing, including the length of the term, how renewal works and what notice you need to give.
For what published-price tools charge at different team sizes, see how much pest control software costs.
Does FieldRoutes have a free trial?
No. The pricing page says FieldRoutes "does not offer a free trial because of the software's highly customizable nature". It offers a demo instead.
A demo shows you the software working on the vendor's data. A trial lets you load twenty of your own customers and run your real week. For a small shop, that difference matters, because the only test that counts is whether your technicians will actually use it.
What does FieldRoutes do better than smaller tools?
FieldRoutes has real strengths, mostly aimed at bigger and more complex operations. From its own pages:
- Route optimization. Its routing page promises "instant route optimization" to "minimize time behind the wheel".
- Payments and collections. Its payments page describes batching payments into groups, AutoPay and advanced collection tools, with online payments through a customer portal.
- Branded customer portal. Its commercial pest control page mentions using "the branded customer portal to send in-depth property notifications".
- Commercial accounts. The same page talks about defining structures on the mobile app and "pre-defined equipment and product associations, like bait to a bait station".
- Automated communication. Both plans list automated communication and reminders and a customer payment portal.
- Accounting. Its integrations page says "QuickBooks® and other accounting systems sync with FieldRoutes".
- Room to grow. A Corporate plan exists for when you scale, so you may not need to switch again.
If you run commercial accounts with bait stations, need autopay and collections at volume, or plan to grow well past ten trucks, FieldRoutes is built for that and the tools below may feel thin.
How do FieldRoutes alternatives compare?

What does each FieldRoutes alternative do better?
GorillaDesk
GorillaDesk publishes its prices, runs month to month with "no contracts, no setup fees", and offers a 14-day trial with no card. Every plan includes automated emails and SMS. Pro adds QuickBooks Online sync, GPS tracking, a customer portal and device tracking with barcoding. Basic routing is limited to 25 stops. More in GorillaDesk alternatives.
Jobber
Jobber has two-way SMS on Grow and Plus, QuickBooks Online from Connect up, and online booking on Core. Its pest page covers card on file for recurring clients, a client portal, route optimization and chemical records with applicator license numbers. The cheapest price requires a non-refundable annual prepayment.
Housecall Pro
Housecall Pro says it does not require long-term contracts. GPS tech tracking is on Essentials and up, route optimization with "real drive time and live traffic" is on Max, and every plan lists offline viewing. Its features page describes a customer hub for past jobs, appointments, estimates and payments.
QuoteIQ
QuoteIQ starts at $29.99 a month and includes saved cards and auto-pay enrollment on every plan. Its pest page lists two-way calling and texting on Pro and up. Route optimization and GPS are on Elite and Max.
Fieldwork
Fieldwork charges only for field users, so office staff are free. QuickBooks, a customer portal and the mobile app come on every plan. Its homepage lists chemical tracking and device scanning in its features menu.
PestShift
PestShift costs $39 a month for one technician, $89 for up to five and $149 for up to ten. Every plan has every feature, office users are free, and it runs month to month. What it offers:
- Scheduling and recurring plans (monthly, quarterly, seasonal), with route optimization that orders a technician's stops and sets arrival times.
- Chemical application records required before a job can be closed, on the services you choose: product, EPA registration number, target pest, rate and application site.
- License tracking with expiry alerts.
- An offline technician app that installs to the home screen with no app store. My Day (today plus the next two days) works with no signal, including starting and completing jobs and adding notes and chemical records. Photos, payments and office screens need signal. More in pest control software offline mode, or see how to install it.
- Online booking with deposits, estimates with e-signature, invoices and card payment links through your own Stripe account.
What PestShift does not have, and FieldRoutes does: no autopay or saved cards, no customer portal (customers get single links for an estimate, booking or payment), no QuickBooks sync, and no bait station tracking. PestShift also has no text messages to customers and no GPS or live technician tracking. If those matter to your business, PestShift is the wrong pick.
Should a small pest control shop leave FieldRoutes?
Stay on FieldRoutes if you rely on autopay and collections at scale, run commercial accounts with bait stations, or expect to grow fast. Moving to a smaller tool would cost you features you use.
Consider leaving if:
- You pay for depth your team never touches.
- Your price keeps rising as your active customer count grows, and a flat, published price would be easier to plan around.
- You want to test software on your own data before committing.
Before you give notice, export your customers, service plans and chemical records, and check your contract terms. How to switch pest control software covers the order to do things in, and the switch page explains how PestShift does the import for you for free. Frequently asked questions

ServiceTitan's own website lists FieldRoutes as one of its products and sends its pest control menu link to fieldroutes.com.
What is the cheapest FieldRoutes alternative?
Among published prices checked on October 8, 2026, QuoteIQ Essentials at $29.99 a month and Jobber Core at $29 a month billed annually were the lowest entry points. PestShift Solo is $39 a month, month to month, for one technician.
