Weather recorded automatically with every pesticide application
Some states ask for wind speed and direction or temperature on an application record, and nobody wants to guess them from memory at the end of the day. PestShift looks up the weather at the property when the product is applied and saves it with the record.

What it records
Each chemical application record gets the wind speed and direction, wind gusts, temperature, humidity and current conditions, plus which weather station it came from and the time of the observation. On the record it reads like this: wind 6 mph from the northwest, gusts 14 mph, 68°F, 63% humidity, clear.
The data comes from the National Weather Service. PestShift checks the stations nearest the property and uses the observation closest to the time the product was applied.
How it works in the field
When a technician opens the record form, it shows the weather now at that property, so they can see the conditions before they save. The value kept on the record is looked up on our side after saving, which means saving never waits on the weather service.
No signal at the property? The record is saved on the phone and the weather is filled in when it syncs, using the time the product was actually applied, not the time it synced. If the weather service can't be reached, the technician can type in the wind speed, direction and temperature by hand, or PestShift keeps retrying in the background for up to six days.
Once the weather is on a record it can't be changed, the same as the rest of the record.
Where you'll see it
The weather travels with the record everywhere the record goes.
- On the saved record on the visit
- On the customer's invoice and service report, when you show chemicals there
- In the chemical records spreadsheet export, in its own columns
Who it's for
Operators in states that ask for weather on application records, and anyone who sprays outdoors and wants proof of the conditions if a drift complaint ever comes in. It also saves your technicians from checking a weather app on every stop and copying the numbers by hand.
Good to know
Weather capture works for properties in the United States, because it uses the National Weather Service. The property needs to be on the map: if PestShift couldn't place an address, you can fix it or enter its coordinates, and the weather works from then on. Records saved before this feature launched in October 2026 don't have weather.
Questions, answered
- From the National Weather Service, using the stations nearest the property and the observation closest to the time of the application.
- No. It's captured automatically. They only type it in if the weather service can't be reached, and then wind speed, direction and temperature are enough.
- The record saves on the phone. When it syncs, PestShift looks up the weather for the time the product was applied.
- No. Like the rest of a chemical record, it is kept as recorded so the record stays trustworthy.
