Jobber can run a pest control business, and for some companies it is the right choice. It is general field service software with a pest control page, and on its own site it lists chemical records with applicator license numbers, card on file billing for recurring clients, a client portal, route optimization, online booking and two-way SMS on its higher plans. It fits best if you run more than one trade, or if two-way texting with customers matters more to you than pest-specific record keeping. If pesticide records and a technician app that keeps working without signal are your top priorities, test those two things hard before you commit, because I could not confirm either on Jobber's pages.
I run PestShift, which competes with Jobber. Everything below about Jobber comes only from Jobber's own website and help center, checked on October 8, 2026, and I have left out anything I could not confirm there.
What does Jobber offer pest control companies?
From Jobber's pricing page and its pest control page, checked October 8, 2026:
- Chemical records. The pest page says it records chemicals along with applicator license numbers.
- Automatic billing for recurring clients. The pest page says you can "save a card on file for your recurring clients so Jobber can bill them automatically after each visit".
- Client portal and route optimization, both covered on the pest page.
- Online booking from the Core plan.
- Two-way SMS on the Grow and Plus plans.
- Native apps. Jobber lists iOS and Android apps on its website.
- A free trial. 14 days, with no credit card, on the Grow plan.
Where does Jobber fit best for pest control?
In these situations Jobber is a more sensible purchase than PestShift:
- You run more than one trade. If pest control is half your work and lawn care or handyman jobs are the other half, one general tool beats two specialist ones.
- You want two-way texting. Jobber lists two-way SMS on Grow and Plus. PestShift texts are one-way notifications.
- You want a client portal. Jobber's pest page covers one. PestShift gives customers single links for each estimate, booking, invoice or payment instead.
- Your pesticide volume is light. If most of your work is exclusion, inspections or wildlife, the record side matters less.
Jobber vs GorillaDesk goes further into when a general tool beats a pest-focused one.
What should you check before choosing Jobber for pest control?
Can a technician close a job with the chemical record left blank? Jobber says it records chemicals. I could not confirm from its pages whether the record is required before a job closes. Try it. If the software allows it, your records depend on someone's discipline on a busy Friday.
Does the technician app work without signal? On the pages I checked, Jobber did not state offline support. That does not mean it fails offline. Load a day, switch the phone to airplane mode, complete two jobs with chemical records, then reconnect and check the office screen. Pest control software offline mode has the full test.
How do the terms work? Jobber prices by plan and number of users, and extra users cost more. Its pricing page offers three billing terms: no commitment, a 12-month term billed monthly, or an annual prepayment that the page calls non-refundable. All of them auto-renew. Ask whether office staff count as users.
Can you get your data out? Jobber's help article says to go to Clients, select More Actions, then Export Clients, and choose CSV. Jobber emails you the file. CSV files hold up to 1,500 rows each, only admin users can export clients, and client exporting is "available on select plans". Check that your plan includes it before you need it.

What PestShift does that matters for pest work:
- The record is part of closing the job. By default a job cannot be completed until its chemical application record (product, EPA registration number, target pest, rate, application site) exists. Records are add-only, so a correction sits next to the original.
- Weather is saved with each record, from the National Weather Service, for properties in the United States.
- License tracking. Each technician's licenses are stored with expiry dates, and visits are flagged when the assigned technician's license is missing or about to expire.
- New York's annual report. For New York businesses, PestShift prepares the DEC annual pesticide report from your records in the state's format. New York requires commercial applicators to file that report on or before February 1 for the prior calendar year, and to keep records for 3 years, under ECL §33-1205(1). Rules change, so confirm with the state; see our New York guide and the full list of state compliance guides.
What PestShift does not have: two-way texting, a customer portal, accounting software sync, an app store app, bait station or barcode tracking, or support for trades other than pest control. If those matter more to you, Jobber or another tool on our comparison page will suit you better.
